WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND A NEST

If you are a visiting the beach between Tavronitis and Kolimbari you may find there are tracks leading from the sea up the beach to a mound of sand.

The mound of sand represents the camouflage covering a turtle nest.

Please DO NOT try to dig into the sand to check if it is a nest.
Any damage to an egg could result in every egg in the nest being contaminated and no turtles will survive.

Find the nearest beach marker at the back of the beach and remember the letters.  e.g. Ac  This represents Beach A marker c.  Estimate the distance East or West from the nest.  If you face the sea you are facing North, therefore East is to your right; West is to your left.

Contact ARCHELON by phone or e-mail, describe the location of the nest and give the distance from the Beach Marker and direction.
If any distinguishing features on or near the nest could be described that would be additional help. e.g. By the flagpole at the Grand Bay Hotel.
